Please note: I am not prone to be motion sick, I enjoy movie-screen-rides, and I found the effects very pleasant - it actually enhanced the movie. Up in the rafters of the theater, there were huge fans that could make the whole room windy, and there was a fog machine that made a little fog to blend into foggy scenes. "The Battle of Five Armies" featured smells of burning during Smaug's attack, smells of grass in Hobbiton, and that kind of thing. In front of each pair of seats is a module that can put certain smells in the air. The seats also can nudge you in the back and surprise you with a puff of air from behind either side of your neck. The seats are mounted in pairs, which can move up and down, tilt, and of course shake. I saw the final installation of the Hobbit series in 4DX at LA Live. ![]()
